My friend and I are having a silly long term argument at the moment. I made the mistake of buying him some Makita tools for his birthday and ever since he has been cross with me. The reason is that he really likes Dewalt tools and they are the brand that he always buys. For me to buy him a different brand, to him, seemed to be a big sin. I told him he was ungrateful and he explained that he was always loyal to that company as he used to work for them and that I should have remembered that. We are both stubborn old fools and keep arguing about it every time we contact each other. I don’t think either of us is really that cross as I know he is grateful that I got him a gift, but it is certainly keeping two old men amused, to have this argument and to keep researching reasons why one tool company is better than the other one. I am sure we will end it soon, as it is starting to annoy our other friends if we are with them when we are arguing, but I think that both of us are secretly really enjoying the fun.
